Description
Making a box with matched grain on all four corners seems impossible. But it’s actually pretty simple once you know the secret. A small box presents the perfect opportunity to showcase that special piece of wood you’ve been saving. Cutting the sides of the box in sequence from a single board highlights the natural beauty of the wood by creating a box where the grain runs around three of the four corners. But the fourth corner, where the two mismatched ends of the board meet, can be a letdown. That is, unless you know the secret of a four-corner match or continuous-grain box. In a mindbender worthy of Escher, this technique lets you wrap the grain around all four corners of the box in an endless path. As impossible as that seems, the solution is actually pretty simple.
